Bhosales

According to new research, Bhosales are descendents of Hoysalas of Karnatak. The Hoysala Dynasty was founded by Jain Acharya Sudatta. Sal, the pupil of Sudattacharya was the first king of this dynasty.

The Hoysals ruled from Halebid (Dwarsamudra). Vinayaditya and Vishnuvardhan were the famous kings of this dynasty who promoted Jainism. Shantaladevi, the queen of Vishnuvardhan was pupil of Jain Acharya Prabhachandra Siddhantdev. She built many Jain  temples including a temple at Shravanbelgola. She took sallekhna at Shravanbelgola in 1131 A.D.

But according to old research, Bhosales are descendents of Shisodiyas of Rajputana. Some of the Sisodiya kings were Jains and some were Shaivs.

Sisodiya is a famous clan of Oswal Jains.
